• Diaper Bag Essentials

I looked at so many posts like this when I was pregnant! With my first baby I used a large tote bag diaper bag. It is from Hip Cub and I love it and still use it almost daily. I would shuffle my things around all of the time sometimes throwing my phone and wallet in the diaper bag and other times switching to a cross body or something smaller. It worked out fine most of the time, but when I was planning for my second pregnancy, I really wanted to treat myself with a nice diaper bag, and get one that could double as a regular purse when I’m…

  • Thanksgiving Table Decor

This year is the first year I really feel like we are “hosting”. I have had a lot of practice over the past ten years cooking Thanksgiving Dinner for just my husband and I, and also my sister and/or my in-laws some years. But this year we will have my mom, all of my sisters and their families/significants others. It will be 8 or 9 adults, and 4 kiddos. We recently finished our home addition which included a reno of the back deck. For us – in our small, southern California home, with no dining room- we eat our meals on our back patio. I love this gauze fabric that…

  • Pink Halloween 4th Birthday Party

I saw so much of this pink/pastel Halloween party décor and wanted so badly to have a kiddie Halloween party at some point. I have never really been into Halloween and for sure never threw a Halloween party. Carli, however, my fun loving now 4-year-old LOVES Halloween. Year-round this kid plays “Halloween”. Once she saw the orange pumpkin trick or treat bucket in the garage and asked me to get it down for her. She would turn off all the lights in her room, close the blackout curtains and say she was playing “trick or treat” and go around her room putting toys in her bucket!! She would play make…

  • 3 Ways to Meet Mom Friends

#1 – the peanut app When I moved to San Diego from New Hampshire, I knew no one! My husband had a job and he started working right away and met some friends through work and I eventually did the same when I got a job. I still only had friends from work and when you work an hour from home, that means your new friends live far away too! Then we got married and had a baby and needed to find some parent friends!! I felt so guilty- that because I didn’t have any friends here, my baby wasn’t getting playdates, and social interaction. I knew for her sake…

  • Retro Daisy 1st Birthday Party

Follow me on IG @beachmamablog for more! Little miss ONEderful! We had the best time celebrating our little miss Tomi Jordyn at her Daisy themed 1st birthday party. I saw this post on 100layercake.com and instantly knew I wanted to try and recreate every detail!  Along with some other pins of daisy decor, and some personal touches – here is what this inspiration helped me to create for Tomi’s first birthday party. I used this same high chair for my older daughters 1st birthday. I thought it was perfect for smash cake photos. I found it on Facebook marketplace. This daisy party dress is from Target, as with the sandals. The sunglasses…

  • Ikea Kitchen Hack

I started seeing these little ikea kitchens in all of the playroom inspo I was searching for on Pinterest years ago. I love the basic clean and simple version of the Ikea Play Kitchen and I love all of the mini reno renditions people have done. I wanted to give it a try and so I added some backsplash, counter top (shelf paper) and painted! I saw many people blog about this and often say that they were worried about chipping when painting pieces like the sink and the handles since they are plastic and that they did many many layers of paint to prevent this. I was already having…
